I had landed in Australia 6 weeks previously & was actively looking for a position in the construction industry when contacted by the Dirctors at Davies Ross Consulting. To be honest, I thought about not going to meet them. I had met so many recruiters & been promised the same old stories. I am delighted now that I decided otherwise.

I was immediately taken back by the level of detail they went into not only about my career but about all aspects of me & my plans in Australia. I was intrigued by the comprehensive notes they were taking. From the outset, I established they were different to the many recruiters I had previously met.

After further research, I became aware that the companies they were proposing were very good contractors with amazing reputations both in Sydney & Nationwide. 

Within a few days of meeting the boys, I was meeting the lead Project Directors of 3 of Australia’s top construction firms. Unlike most other Recruiters I had met, they had kept to their word. The guys thoroughly prepared me so for each interview providing me with backgrounds on specific projects, people & culture within each company.

I was amazed to see how well they had also prepared each of the interviewers. Each company did not have a copy of my Resume. They had a full document about me. All of the notes the guys had taken when I first met them were typed up and presented to each company prior to my interview.

I secured second round interviews with all three companies. I met them all again & was made 3 formal offers within 2 weeks of meeting the guys at DRC. I chose the company I felt best suited me & have not looked back.

The difference with DRC is that they care. They care about their Candidates and their Clients. They look to put people into companies where they will not only fulfil a role but fit in culturally. I cannot stress enough how lucky I was to have answered the phone to these guys. If you are looking for a position in the construction industry in Australia I would not waste any time posting endless CVs to recruiters who will just pass them on.
